Donald Trump Jr. Will Lose This Twitter Feud With Adam Rippon

America has found its new Olympic hero in

Adam Rippon. The 28-year-old figure skater became the first openly gay American male athlete to win a medal when he took home the bronze during the team event in Pyeongchang earlier this week. Rippon has already taken advantage of his new platform to speak out against the Trump administration, specifically expressing his disappointment in Vice President

Mike Pence leading the U.S. delegation during the Opening Ceremony due to Pence’s anti-L.G.B.T.Q. views. While many have embraced Rippon, there’s at least one person with a Twitter account who hasn’t:

Donald Trump Jr.

In a recent interview, Rippon told reporters that while he stood by his earlier statement on the vice president, he didn’t want it to “distract” from his or his teammates’ Olympic experience. As Trump Jr. is currently not participating in the Winter Olympics, he had some time to tweet his thoughts on Rippon’s interview, saying, “Really? Then Perhaps you shouldn’t have spent the past few weeks talking about him. I haven’t heard him mention you once???”

It was an interesting take coming from someone who spends so much time on Twitter as Mike Pence did mention Rippon in a series of tweets on February 7.

“Headed to the Olympics to cheer on #TeamUSA. One reporter trying to distort 18 yr old nonstory to sow seeds of division. We won’t let that happen! #FAKENEWS. Our athletes are the best in the world and we are for ALL of them!” Pence wrote before addressing Rippon directly. “@Adaripp I want you to know we are FOR YOU. Don’t let fake news distract you. I am proud of you and ALL OF OUR GREAT athletes and my only hope for you and all of #TeamUSA is to bring home the gold. Go get ‘em!”

Currently, Donald Trump Jr. follows 1,213 people on Twitter, including conspiracy theorist Twitter personality

Mike Cernovich, InfoWars host

Alex Jones, and even both of Vice President Mike Pence’s Twitter accounts. Perhaps clearing up Trump’s Twitter feed would make it easier for him to double check his drafts before he tweets out #FAKENEWS.
